October 6: Lyons
On October 6th, the Turnaround Crew traveled to Lyons, IL for our Turnaround Stop at PJ Klem’s Banquet Hall. Our co-sponsor for the evening was John Yackley of the Cook County Coalition for Tax Relief. John kicked off the evening with a welcoming introduction to our Tour.
We were lucky to be joined by 4 local candidates spanning 3 different parties. Candidates Roger Keats (Republican: Cook County Board President), Tom Tresser (Green: Cook County Board President), Tony Peraica (Republican: 16th District Cook County Commissioner), and Mayor Jeff Tobolski (Democrat: 16th District Cook County Commissioner). What turned out to be our most spirited audience yet, also turned out to be one of our more curious. They asked a lot of difficult questions that spurred interesting and important debate among the candidates.
With an engaged audience of 100+ citizens and captivating debate from the candidates, it turned out to be a great success! We want to especially thank John Yackley, Carey Matson from Stella’s, and PJ Klem’s for the use of their Banquet Hall and their delicious pizza.
