October 26: Oglesby

With just one week before Election Day, the Turnaround Tour Bus held a candidate’s forum at the Elks Lodge in Oglesby, Il.  Approximately 100 citizens attended the forum and meeting, which was co-sponsored by the Bureau-LaSalle Tea Party, and they were a group that recognized the importance of the upcoming election.

Although we had 9 candidates RSVP, we were happy to see the 5 that fought through the day’s strong storms to get to the event.  We started out the forum with candidates for Senate.  Robert Zadek (Write-In Candidate), LeAlan Jones (Green Party), and Mike Labno (Libertarian Party) kicked off the forum.  The candidates answered questions about ObamaCare, and also discussed the issue of voter fraud.

Afterwards, we began the second part of our forum with Libertarian candidate for Attorney General, Bill Malan, and Republican candidate for Secretary of State, Robert Enriquez.   Mr. Enriquez stressed the importance of implementing forensic audits in government, while Mr. Malan brought up that Illinois citizens should be looking to other parties to combat the problems Illinois is facing.

Special thanks to Art Havenhill and Chris Arndt of the Bureau-LaSalle Tea Party for putting this evening together at the Elks Lodge.  More thanks to the individuals that attended, despite the weather conditions.   It was great to be a part of a group that is so inspired to turn the state around!
